Walking

WalkingThe Beara peninsula offers varied walking experiences from short country lane strolls to mountain hiking. The Beara Way walking route is a 208km waymarked trail around the peninsula. This takes you through varying mountain and sea shore scenery. It is very versatile, allowing you to make your own short or long loop walks.

Cycling

CyclingThe Beara Way cycling route follows mostly country roads and like the walking route takes you through a range of scenery. Bicycles can be hired locally and can be delivered to Inches House for you.

Horse Riding

There is a local stables only 3km from Inches House.

Sailing & Kayaking

The West Cork Sailing school is situated 20 minutes from Inches House in the beautiful bay of Adrigole.

9 hole in Castletownbere, 9 hole in Glengarriff, 18 hole in Kenmare

Gardens

The beautiful Derreen Gardens in Lauragh http://www.ireland-guide.com/gardens/derreen-garden.7121.html  and Italian Gardens in Glengarriff http://www.glengarriff.ie/amenities/garinish-island  are both within 30 minutes car journey.

Islands

Visit the stunning Dursey Island at the end of the Beara Peninsula by Ireland’s only cable car. Now inhabited by only 6 people the island is a beautiful place to walk or just to experience the cable car.

Bere Island lies just a mile from the town of Castletownbere and can be accessed by 2 car/passenger ferries. The island is a stunning place for walking, cycling or to visit the restaurant.

Museum

Explore the hillsides surrounding Allihies village with its old copper mine shafts and visit the museum explaining this history.
